Alistair Kirkbride

Sustainable Transport Consultant
Alistair has worked on demand management and sustainable transport development for over 20 years across the public, private and third sectors. He has particular interests in practical applications of shared transport, access and transport to and in protected landscapes and the links between leisure and utility travel in rural areas. In recent years he has worked in the Lake District, Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons national parks, the Northumberland Coast AONB and Kielder Forest Park – helping to develop attractive, viable fair sustainable access solutions to chronic visitor car parking problems. As a Fellow of the Foundation for Integrated Transport, he worked on new models for transport governance in national parks in response to the DEFRA/Glover review of protected landscapes.
