Professor Phil Goodwin

Emeritus Professor of Transport Policy at University College London and the University of the West of England, and Senior Fellow of the Foundation for Integrated Transport
Phil Goodwin is Emeritus Professor of Transport Policy at UCL and the University of the West of England, and a Senior Fellow of the Foundation for Integrated Transport. He was formerly Director of Oxford University Transport Studies Unit, a non-Executive director of the Port of Dover, and a member of SACTRA (and co-author of its three major reports on Induced Traffic, Environmental Appraisal, and Transport and the Economy). He has written widely on travel demand, road project appraisal, and forecasting. He has appeared as a specialist witness in a number of contested road inquiries, sometimes on behalf of objectors to unsustainable schemes, and in legal cases. He is currently working mainly on the effects of climate change on transport, and the effects of transport on climate change.
